Redefining Relaxation

Sedation dentistry involves sedative medication to help you feel more relaxed during a dental procedure. It is not the same as being under general anesthesia because you are not completely asleep during the treatment. However, it is an excellent alternative if you experience dental anxiety and wish to feel more comfortable during your visit.

Nitrous Oxide

Also known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide induces calm and happiness through inhalation during treatment. This sedation dentistry method is one of the most common forms of consciousness sedation dentistry because it’s safe and effective for children and adults. Nitrous oxide typically begins to take effect within less than a minute, and the effects wear off almost immediately after the procedure.

IV Sedation

IV or intravenous sedation involves gently placing an IV in your arm and administering medication to help you enter into a deeper state of relaxation. You may be a good candidate for IV sedation if you are undergoing complex treatment or have extreme dental anxiety. While you will still be conscious, with IV sedation, you’ll have almost no recollection of the procedure.

Local Anesthesia

Local numbing agents are applied topically to a specific area before injecting an anesthetic solution that blocks pain signals. While the uncomfortable effects of local anesthesia can last for several hours, we offer an anesthesiology numbing reversal so you can regain normal sensation and smile, eat, and speak soon after your sedation.
