Imagine never thinking about waxing, shaving, plucking, or tweezing ever again…
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
Our Laser hair removal in Miami is a permanent solution for eliminating excess or unwanted hair. The treatment involves using a laser that emits concentrated light energy to target the pigment or melanin (dark color) inside a hair follicle. The light energy is converted to heat, which destroys the follicle while leaving the surrounding skin intact.
The hair follicles that are in a dormant stage, meaning that they are not growing hair right at that moment, are not affected by the laser, which is why you need multiple treatments for each area.
One of the downsides to laser hair removal is that sometimes it isn’t effective on darker skin tones. But at Dr. Patty Miami we believe that everyone deserves to look and feel their best. That’s why we’ve invested in the latest highly-targeted laser hair removal technology, which operates on unique wavelengths to treat both light and dark shades.

Caring for Your Skin after Laser Hair Removal
Immediately following your hair removal session at our luxury cosmetic boutique, you may notice some redness and puffiness in the treatment area(s). This is totally normal. Your hair removal technician may recommend placing cold compresses or applying a calming moisturizer to the painful site.
Between sessions, it’s important that you follow your technician’s recommendations and remember to:
Avoid irritants: toners, harsh soaps, scrubs, retinoids, and peels are all no-gos after at least one week following laser hair removal.
Be gentle: avoid hot water, pools, and tubs for at least three days. Instead, shower with lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean towel. Don’t rub or scrub the treated area.
Stay in the shade: avoid sun exposure and tanning beds, and apply sunscreen whenever you’re going outside.
Moisturize: try keeping your skin as hydrated as possible by moisturizing at least three times daily. This will help reduce irritation and keep ingrown hairs at bay.
Resist the temptation to pluck: no tweezing, picking, or pulling, either. Be patient; the treated hairs will fall out on their own within 5 to 15 days.

Laser Hair Removal FAQs
Am I a Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
It depends on the area you want treated. The average number of sessions for laser hair removal is anywhere between 4 and 6. And sessions are spaced out approximately 4 to 10 weeks apart, depending on the size of the target area.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Not very painful at all. Many of our patients have compared it to waxing or like being snapped with a rubber band. At Dr. Patty Miami, we use numbing cream to make your procedure as straightforward and comfortable as possible.
How Painful Is Laser Hair Removal?
Yes. In fact, you are encouraged to do so. Your technician will ask you to shave before your appointment. But please make sure you don’t pluck or wax any hairs on the treatment area. This is important because you don’t want to empty the follicle, since the laser will not have any pigment to target.
